Egypt

Picture
I travel through each sandy tomb,

aware of what patiently awaits me,

through jewels and death I pray that I not meet thy doom,

and may the Nile River save thee.

Wraps of crusted air tight flesh hold royalty close together,

gold and treasures only of mans purest desires,

take a bit here and take a bit of pleasure,

then soon we'll all become famous liars.

Own the land that was once rich in power,

slavery and monuments worth life and limb,

sensuality lives deep within the roots of Egypt's flowers,

people only to have craved what once had been.

The playground of the once proudly painted and dressy fools,

lies within the ruins on the scorching hot sand,

leave these treasures behind in their pools,

their afterlife will soon need them again.
